Misamis University Signs MOU with Cebu Mitsumi, Inc. for Partnership and Collaboration
Misamis University is committed to forging partnerships with local industries to help graduates build successful career paths and secure employment opportunities in the Philippines after graduation. In line with this commitment, Misamis University signed an MOU for partnership and collaboration with Cebu Mitsumi, Inc., located in the MRI Special Economic Zone, Sabang, Danao City, on January 10, 2025.
This collaboration aims to prepare Engineering students for the workforce, covering various aspects from internships to employment opportunities. The key activities of this partnership include the following:
- Learning Sessions – The College of Engineering and Technology may identify key topics and invite company engineers to conduct on-campus lectures at Misamis University. Alternatively, the university may gather insights on industry trends from Cebu Mitsumi, Inc. and organize specialized classes incorporating these trends, with company engineers serving as guest lecturers.
- Plant Visits – Engineering students will have the opportunity to tour and immerse themselves in the actual operations of the company. These visits will provide hands-on experience and allow students to apply the engineering theories learned on campus to real-world industry settings.
- Recruitment and Hiring – Cebu Mitsumi, Inc. will actively recruit graduating students and alumni from Misamis University's Engineering program to meet the company's workforce needs. Additionally, the company may consider hiring graduates from Business Administration, IT, and Psychology programs, as these fields are also relevant to industry demands.
- Faculty Immersion Program – Faculty members from the College of Engineering and Technology will visit the company to stay updated on industry trends and workforce demands. Insights gained from these visits will enable faculty members to enhance and align the engineering curriculum with industry requirements. This curriculum enhancement will ensure that graduates are well-prepared for the job market.
