Misamis University Strengthens Global Academic Collaboration Through Faculty Exchange with Universitas Persada Indonesia Y.A.I.
Misamis University continues to expand its global academic engagement through a faculty exchange collaboration with Universitas Persada Indonesia Y.A.I., Indonesia, held from October 11 to 24, 2025. This initiative forms part of MU’s continuing commitment to internationalization, academic cooperation, and cross-cultural learning.
As part of the program, MU sent faculty members Ms. Rean Angelie Cayanpat and Mr. Ariel Apao from the College of Business Management as visiting professors to Universitas Persada Indonesia Y.A.I. During their engagement, they conducted lectures, interacted with students from the Faculty of Economics and Business as well as other faculties, and participated in various academic and cultural activities. They also visited partner higher education institutions in and near Jakarta, further strengthening institutional linkages and academic collaboration.
On October 13, 2025, Ms. Cayanpat delivered a general lecture entitled “MU Practices in Business Planning: From Generating Business Ideas to Pitching,” alongside her UPI YAI counterpart, Dr. Wilhelmus Hary Susilo, who presented a lecture entitled “From UPI Y.A.I: The Domain of Higher Education Transformed Through the Provision of Customized Learning Experiences in the Improvement of Student Engagement: Society 5.0 Education to Establish an Optimal Learning Environment and Career Preparation for the Future.” The session was attended by students from the Faculty of Economics and Business.
On October 14 and 15, 2025, in the morning, Ms. Cayanpat lectured on Basic Accounting entitled “Completing the Accounting Style,” while Mr. Apao conducted lectures for Financial Management students on the “Time Value of Money Concept.” They continued their lectures the following day, October 15, ensuring deeper student understanding and continuity of learning.
On the afternoon of October 15, both faculty members also conducted a Financial Literacy lecture for students from four faculties; Psychology, Economics and Business, Communication, and Engineering, focusing on the importance of financial awareness, responsible decision-making, and practical money management skills.
On October 17, 2025, Mr. Apao and Ms. Cayanpat participated in a cultural exchange session and subsequently visited partner higher education institutions of Misamis University, where they delivered lectures individually.
They visited and conducted a lecture at Institut Transportasi Trisakti. On October 18, 2025, they visited and conducted a lecture at Akademi Bakti Kemanusiaan, followed by a Batik exhibition, and at Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Y.A.I. on October 19, 2025.
On October 21, 2025, they visited and also conducted a lecture at Universitas Serang Raya. On October 22, 2025, Ms. Cayanpat delivered a lecture on “Accounting for Merchandising Operations” for Basic Accounting students, while Mr. Apao continued his lectures on Financial Management, further contributing to student academic development at Universitas Persada Indonesia Y.A.I.
In this exchange program, Universitas Persada Indonesia YAI also sent one faculty member and two students to Misamis University in the following months, further strengthening academic collaboration.
This exchange program demonstrates the commitment of Misamis University to global academic excellence and intercultural engagement. Through meaningful academic exchanges and collaborative initiatives, MU continues to enhance teaching and learning practices while fostering strong international partnerships that prepare both faculty and students for global academic and professional environments.
