Misamis University Strengthens Global Collaboration through Visit to INTI International University in Malaysia
Misamis University continues to expand its global footprint by strengthening international partnerships through a visit to INTI International University in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on November 10, 2025. The visit opened doors to meaningful conversations on collaboration, shared growth, and new opportunities in research and academic engagement.
As one of Misamis University’s established international partners, INTI International University welcomed the delegation for an in-depth discussion focused on strengthening ties and exploring future collaborative initiatives. The engagement reflected a shared vision of advancing education, research, and innovation beyond geographical boundaries.
The Misamis University delegation was led by Dr. Russel P. Galindo, Director for Research; Dr. Yunalyn L. Villantes, University Research Coordinator; and Dr. Haydee D. Villanueva, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and Research Coordinator of Graduate School. The team met with key leaders from INTI International University, namely AP. Ts. Dr. Choo Wou Onn, Director, International Relations and Collaborations Centre (IRCC); Professor Dr. Asokan Vasudevan, Director, Center for Sustainable Business Innovation and Corporate Responsibility; and P. Tanushri Natasha Anne, Regional Head, International Relations and Collaborations Centre (IRCC).
The discussions were both engaging and forward-looking, covering potential areas such as joint research projects, faculty and student exchanges, research capability building, and collaborative initiatives in sustainable business and corporate social responsibility. Ideas were exchanged openly, highlighting the strengths of both institutions and the many ways they can complement each other.
More than a formal meeting, the visit fostered a sense of shared purpose and mutual commitment. Both Misamis University and INTI International University expressed strong interest in developing collaborations that create a lasting impact, enhance the research culture, encourage innovation, and provide meaningful learning opportunities for students and faculty alike. This visit marks another important milestone in Misamis University’s journey toward internationalization. By nurturing partnerships with respected global institutions such as INTI International University, the University continues to build bridges that connect local excellence to global opportunities.
