2009 Earth Day Celebration
Misamis University together with the Local Government of Misamis Occidental joined the world in celebrating Earth Day last April 22, 2009 with the theme, "Hoyohoy Sustainable Upland Development Program: Partnership between LGU, Misamis University and the People of Hoyohoy, Tangub City" at Brgy. Hoyohoy, Tangub City.
Participants from the different sectors of the university and the community showed their concern for Mother Earth by joining the Eco-Walk and participating in various activities like Tree Planting, Feeding Program and Dental Mission.
Provincial Governor, Hon. Loreto Leo S. Ocampos, University President, Dr. Karen Belina F. De Leon & Barangay Captain Quilito O. Bejec signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) making Hoyohoy as our adopted barangay of Misamis University.
The activity proved to be a success with the MU community showing their commitment in promoting the mission and vision of the university.
