Misamis University Partners with Kasetsart University and Universitas Persada Indonesia for International Graduate Thesis Critiquing
Misamis University continues to advance its internationalization efforts through a collaborative academic initiative with Kasetsart University and Universitas Persada Indonesia Y.A.I., Indonesia. The partnership focuses on sharing expertise in qualitative research and strengthening graduate students’ competencies in thesis preparation.
The activity, entitled “Graduate Thesis Proposal Critiquing by International Reviewers,” will be held on May 25, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Philippine time) at the Function Hall. It will involve sixty (60) graduate students from three sections enrolled in the Master of Arts in Nursing and Master in Nursing programs under Dr. Lloyd B. Ranises and Dr. Merasol Duyag.
During the event, eight (8) selected thesis proposals will be presented and evaluated by distinguished international reviewers. These include Thanapol Leangsuksant, PhD, lecturer from the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences of Kasetsart University, and Dr. Wilhelmus Hary Susilo, Associate Professor in Marketing and Biostatistics at the Magister Management Program, Faculty of Economics and Business of Universitas Persada Indonesia Y.A.I., and affiliated with Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan Sint Carolus (Sint Carolus School of Health Sciences), Jakarta.
The critiquing session aims to provide participants with valuable insights from Southeast Asian academic perspectives, particularly in the application of qualitative research methodologies. Through this engagement, students will gain a deeper understanding of how life experiences and narratives are approached in research across different cultural and academic contexts.
Moreover, the activity prepares graduate students to align their research with international standards while maintaining local relevance. By integrating global perspectives into their thesis development, students are better equipped to produce research that contributes meaningfully to both local and international scholarly communities.
This initiative reflects Misamis University’s commitment to enhancing academic quality through global collaboration. By bringing international experts into the research mentoring process, the University continues to elevate its graduate programs and foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and international engagement.
