Misamis University Delegates to International Summer School in Thailand
Misamis University is pleased to announce that two representatives from the College of Criminology will participate in the SOC-ENVI KU Summer School Program 2026 hosted by the Faculty of Social Sciences of Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand, from July 5 to 18, 2026.
Carrying the theme, “Glocal Sustainable Practice: From Global Sustainable Framework to Local Sustainable Foundation,” the 14-day international summer school will gather participants from different countries to explore sustainability, climate governance, community engagement, and global-local development practices.
Representing Misamis University are Ms. Njayl Mhae H. Mata, a second-year Bachelor of Science in Criminology student and Ms. Bernaflor B. Canape, Instructor of the College of Criminology.
The program aims to develop future practitioners, scholars, and change-makers who can translate global sustainability frameworks into locally grounded and actionable practices. Participants will engage with internationally recognized concepts such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), climate governance models, and circular economy principles, while learning how these can be adapted to local communities and cultural contexts.
For Ms. Mata and Ms. Canape, participation in the program will provide valuable insights into environmental security, sustainability governance, and community-based practices that are relevant to the field of criminology and public safety in the Philippines.
This international engagement reflects Misamis University’s continued commitment to global education, sustainability, and international collaboration.
