Misamis University Takes Key Leadership Role in CHEDRO 10's Internationalization Network
Misamis University has been entrusted with a key leadership role in the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office 10 (CHEDRO 10) for the internationalization of higher education in Northern Mindanao.
During the CHEDRO 10 Coordinative Meeting held on August 7, 2025, at the CHED Regional Office Conference Hall 10, HEDC Bldg., Hayes St., Cagayan de Oro City, one of the main agenda items was the formalization of the Region 10 International Relations Officers Network (IRON 10). In this meeting, Dr. Lloyd B. Rañises, Director of Linkages and Networking of Misamis University, was elected Treasurer of IRON 10.
The meeting was presided over by Dr. Arlita Amapola B. Minguez, OIC–Director IV of CHEDRO 10, and attended by CHEDRO 10 personnel including Mr. Daryl Glenn B. Pamplona, OIC–CEPS; Engr. Rey M. Lagrada, IZN Focal/ES II; and Ms. Jeany Lou Loren, TNHE Officer/PTS III.
Other agenda items discussed included:
- ACHIEVE Agenda of CHED Chairperson Dr. Shirley Agrupis
- CHED Strategic Plan 2023–2028 with a focus on Internationalization
- Targets and Activities for 2025–2026
- Advancing CHEDRO 10 HEIs’ Global Visibility
- Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) Congress, ASEAN Celebration, and Regional Quality Awards on August 19, 2025
- Formalization of the Region 10 International Relations Officers Network (IRON 10)
The elected IRON 10 officers are: President: Dr. Joey Genevieve T. Martinez, Vice Chancellor for International Affairs, Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) Vice President (Internal): Dr. Raquelyn J. Dadang, Office of the International Relations Director, Central Mindanao University (CMU) Vice President (External): Dr. Ramir Philip Jones V. Sonsona, Director for Global Engagement and Mobility, University of Science and Technology of the Philippines (USTP) System Secretary: Dr. Rizza R. Consad, Director for International Affairs and Linkages Unit, Bukidnon State University (BukSU) Treasurer: Dr. Lloyd B. Ranises, Director of Linkages, Misamis University (MU) Auditor: Dr. Benjoe Rey B. Visayas, Internationalization Coordinator, MSU at Naawan PIO: Dr. Mercelita Labial, Internationalization Coordinator, Capitol University (CU)
The election of Dr. Ranises positions Misamis University as an active player in advancing the internationalization initiatives of all higher education institutions (HEIs) in Region 10, both public and private. This includes strategic planning and resource mobilization in cooperation with CHEDRO 10 to strengthen the global competitiveness of HEI programs in Northern Mindanao.
This milestone shows Misamis University’s commitment to addressing global demands through active international engagement, enabling it to play a vital role in leading Region 10’s internationalization efforts.
