
MU Athletes Blaze the Competition at Regional PRISAA Games 2025
Dominating the competition with an exceptional display of athletic excellence and determination, Misamis University secured First Runner-Up Overall in the Senior Category at the 2025 Regional Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) held in Valencia City, Bukidnon, from February 5 to 9, 2025. The university’s athletes delivered an outstanding performance, bringing home an impressive 24 Gold, 9 Silver, and 1 Bronze—a testament to their hard work, skill, and dedication.
In Table Tennis, our Women's Team, composed of Lovely Mae Dinglasa, Althea Jen N. Mata, Kyle Mae B. Panimdim, and Joannah Grace M. Collango, emerged as champions. In the Men's Singles category, Jabez Baily M. Maghanoy secured the championship, while in the Men’s Doubles, Reederie Karl H. Rallos and Kirk Seith G. Alunan claimed champion. The Men’s Team, consisting of Jabez Baily M. Maghanoy, Reederie Karl H. Rallos, Kirk Seith G. Alunan, and Jake J. Banglos, finished 1st Runner-Up. Jake J. Banglos also secured 1st Runner-Up in Men’s Singles, while in Women’s Doubles, Lovely Mae Dinglasa and Joannah Grace M. Collango placed as 1st Runner-Up. The players who qualified for the National Prisaa Games in Tuguegarao City are Lovely Mae Dinglasa, Joannah Grace M. Collango, Jabez Baily M. Maghanoy, and Jake J. Banglos.

In Lawn Tennis, Lovello B. Gran III earned the championship in Men’s Singles, while Joshua Miguel O. Gatab and Francis Eric O. Baguio secured the championship title in Men’s Doubles. In the Women's category, Marge Daniella M. Dela Cerna dominated the Singles event, while Jamaica S. Virtudazo and Frances Amia S. Montejo took home the championship in Women’s Doubles. Genevive Tagab also showcased her skills, securing 2nd Runner-Up in Women’s Singles. The following players qualified for the National Prisaa Games in Tuguegarao City: Lovello B. Gran III, Joshua Miguel O. Gatab, Francis Eric O. Baguio, Marge Daniella M. Dela Cerna, Jamaica S. Virtudazo, Frances Amia S. Montejo, and Genevive Tagab.

In Chess, our Men’s Team claimed the championship title. In the individual category, Dleksha Dhayne R. Radi earned champion, Yuan V. Tose placed as 1st Runner-Up, Medelino A. Jalambo secured 2nd Runner-Up, and Kenjie A. Secheco finished in 10th place. For the Women's Team Category, which also emerged as champions, Kattrina Grace P. Lim won the individual championship, Mary Claire M. Jagonia placed 1st Runner-Up, Princess Sheena T. Manego finished as 2nd Runner-Up, and Bernadette C. Lingo-Lingo secured 4th place. The following players qualified for the National Prisaa Games in Tuguegarao City: Dlekesha Dhyane R. Radi, Yuan V. Tose, Meldelino A. Jalambo, Kattrina Grace P. Lim, Mary Claire M. Jagonia, and Princess Sheena T. Manego.
In PRISAAwitan, Jodgie M. Baterna claimed the championship title in Vocal Solo, while Earl James A. Lorenton and Nicolette Kate B. Salve secured the championship in Vocal Duet. The players who qualified for the National Prisaa Games in Tuguegarao City are Jodgie M. Baterna, Earl James A. Lorenton, and Nicolette Kate B. Salve.

In Volleyball, our Men’s Team secured 3rd Runner-Up, with outstanding performances from Jake David B. Jabonillo, Heins Dannyl S. Egue, Cris Ian P. Namuag, Reign Mer Heart P. Alquiza, John Gilbert A. Agawin, John Russel A. Barilea, John Edward V. Salvacion, Jun Rey L. Lagud, Tyrone James P. Mejorada, Josemaria J. Racoma, Lee Redoblado, and John Gerald R. Cajarte.
