One Vision, One Standard: Misamis University Reorients Faculty to Advance Research Excellence
Ozamiz City, Philippines — Quality research begins with a strong foundation. To reinforce a culture of excellence, consistency, and integrity in research, the Misamis University Research Center (MURC), in partnership with the Human Resource Department (HRD), conducted a Re- orientation on Institutional Research Policies and Guidelines on June 2, 2026, bringing together research instructors, advisers, college research coordinators, and faculty members from across the University.
The re-orientation equipped faculty members with updated institutional policies and best practices to ensure that every student research project meets the University's standards of quality, ethical compliance, and academic rigor. A major highlight of the session was the emphasis on aligning all research topics with the University Research Agenda, College Research Agenda, program outcomes, and community needs—ensuring that every study contributes to institutional priorities and creates meaningful impact beyond the classroom.
Participants also revisited the Misamis University Student Research Flow, Institutional Research Format, institutional research forms, oral examination panel committee guidelines, ethics review procedures, manuscript preparation, and documentation requirements, promoting a standardized and streamlined research process across all academic programs. The activity reaffirmed Misamis University's unwavering commitment to producing research that is relevant, ethical, innovative, and impactful, while empowering faculty members to mentor the next generation of researchers with confidence and consistency.
Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the initiative advances SDG 4 (Quality Education) by strengthening research capacity, SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) by fostering innovation and knowledge creation, and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) by promoting transparency, accountability, and ethical research governance.
At Misamis University, research is more than a requirement—it is a commitment to creating knowledge that matters, transforms communities, and shapes a better future.
