Misamis University Ventures into Education Transformation through Participation in the 1st IAL Summit
The Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities (PACU), through its Committee on Industry-Academe Linkage and in cooperation with Singapore’s Institute of Adult Learning (IAL), will hold the 1st IAL Summit from June 30 to July 2, 2025 at Cebu Institute of Technology-University in Cebu City. Themed "Transforming Education and Learning: Fostering Entrepreneurship and Industry Collaboration," the summit provides a valuable platform to discuss the evolving educational landscape in the Philippines amidst global changes and challenges.
Education leaders from Singapore and the Philippines will share insights on educational transformation, focusing on contemporary topics such as micro-credentials, artificial intelligence (AI), and entrepreneurship. The summit will explore how education systems today are increasingly adopting business models and addressing global challenges through international partnerships and collaborations. Discussions will also examine the influence of technology and socio-political dynamics on both local and global education systems.
To stay aligned with these emerging trends, Misamis University will participate in the 1st IAL Summit by sending Dr. Lloyd Ranises, Linkage Officer, and Dr. Renzetilo Alf Carpio, Dean of the College of Business Management. Their involvement aims to contribute to critical discussions, share innovative ideas, and explore collaborative opportunities that support educational transformation and strengthen Misamis University’s strategic direction.
A key outcome of their participation will be the establishment of new partnerships with institutions such as Singapore’s Institute of Adult Learning and other potential collaborators. This effort will further enhance Misamis University's international linkages, strategic partnerships, and its broader internationalization agenda. More importantly, it will position Misamis University for timely and strategic transformation, equipping the institution to effectively respond to the evolving educational landscape and its challenges, both locally and globally.
