
Misamis University, Through University President Dr. Karen Belina F. De Leon, Honored with Multiple Recognitions from CHED Region X
Misamis University proudly received several Certificates of Recognition from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office X during the awarding ceremony held on August 19, 2025, at the Chali Resort and Conference Center, Cagayan de Oro City. The awards were personally received by University President, Dr. Karen Belina F. De Leon, highlighting MU’s consistent pursuit of excellence in higher education, innovation, and professional performance.
Among the commendations awarded were:
- Certificate of Recognition from CHED Region X for being granted Autonomous Status (valid from September 16, 2024 to September 15, 2027), further strengthening MU’s academic freedom and leadership in quality education.
- Certificate of Recognition from CHED Region X – Special Commendation for being a Top Performing School in the July 2024 Criminology Licensure Examination, ranking Top 3 in the category of 30–50 examinees, reflecting the university’s strong academic preparation and commitment to professional excellence.
- A.C.E. Awards Certificate of Recognition – Special Commendation granted to the Student Affairs and Services (SAS) Unit for Accuracy, Consistency, and Efficiency in Reports Submission, highlighting the unit’s dedication to excellence in institutional governance.

In addition to these honors, Misamis University also received a Certificate of Recognition from CHED Region X for its achievement in the 2025 World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI), where it ranked Top 70 in Visionary Leadership and Top 88 in Student Mobility and Openness. This recognition highlights MU’s innovative approach to education and its commitment to advancing global standards in leadership, mobility, and academic excellence.
