Misamis University Demonstrates Active Global Engagements
During the Hanseatic League of Universities Conference and the WURI Global Ranking Ceremony 2026, held at National Chi Nan University in Taiwan from May 6–8, 2026, one of the major highlights of the event was the Signing Ceremony of the Multilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for academic partnerships and collaboration involving 67 institutions from different parts of the world. This was in addition to the bilateral Memorandum of Understanding signed between Misamis University and National Chi Nan University during the same event.
On May 6, 2026, Misamis University officially signed the Multilateral Memorandum of Understanding through Dr. Karen Belina F. De Leon, University President, represented during the ceremony by Dr. Lloyd Ranises, Director of Linkages and International Affairs. The signing established academic partnerships and collaborations with 19 foreign institutions from 13 countries and 48 Philippine higher education institutions (HEIs).
The 19 foreign institutions that signed the Multilateral Memorandum of Understanding with Misamis University included HEIs and industries, namely:

This Multilateral Memorandum of Understanding enables partner institutions to promote innovation-driven higher education, strengthen global academic collaboration, advance joint responses to global challenges, and facilitate institutional transformation toward future-oriented education systems.
The partnership areas in which the institutions may collaborate in realizing these goals include:
- Joint research and innovation initiatives addressing global and regional challenges, including sustainability, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and social impact;
- Educational program development, including dual-degree, double-degree, and joint- degree programs, executive education, professional programs, and AI-driven learning initiatives;
- Innovation case development and the sharing of best practices in higher education, including contributions to WURI;
- Conferences, forums, and workshops that advance innovation and global cooperation in higher education;
- Faculty, researcher, and student exchange programs to strengthen global learning, cross-cultural understanding, and collaborative knowledge creation; and
- Institutional and policy innovation to enhance the effectiveness and global competitiveness of universities.
Through this internationalization initiative, Misamis University continues to strengthen the delivery of its academic programs and services in order to provide updated, relevant, and sustainable quality education through global cooperation and collaboration.
