Misamis University and Gimcheon University Forge International Academic Partnership
Misamis University has forged a partnership with Gimcheon University of South Korea. The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding was held at the International Youth Fellowship (IYF) in Novaliches, Quezon City on March 5, 2026.
Dr. Karen Belina F. De Leon, President of Misamis University, signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Dr. Ok-Hyun Yoon, President of Gimcheon University. The ceremony was officially represented by Dr. Lloyd Ranises, Director of Linkages and International Affairs of Misamis University.
Also present during the Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony were Dr. Kim Yong-soo, Dean of the Office of International Affairs; Rev. Sunghwa Cho of the Chaplain’s Office Development Committee; Rev. Kyung Hyun Nam, President of IYF Philippines; Mr. Jin Eun Kim, Professional Mind Lecturer; and Mr. Yungju Kim.
The new partnership aims to provide broader opportunities for student mobility and exchange programs between Misamis University and Gimcheon University of South Korea, paving the way for the university to expand its internationalization initiatives in East Asia.
The collaboration between the two institutions will focus on paramedical programs such as Doctor of Dental Medicine, Medical Technology, Nursing, and Radiologic Technology, while also opening opportunities for cooperation in other fields, including the social sciences.
Through this partnership, Misamis University further strengthens its diverse approaches to internationalization, enhancing the quality of academic program delivery. Active collaboration with Gimcheon University in South Korea will contribute to strengthening the academic programs of both institutions.
