MU Celebrates World Migratory Bird Day 2021
Pag-awit, paglupad, pataas sama sa usa ka Langgam! Join the celebration of the World Migratory Bird Day 2021- highlighting the migratory birds' importance, functions, flyways, and laws and regulations in conserving these species. The celebration will be streamed live via Misamis University Facebook Page at https://facebook.com/MisamisUniversity on May 08, 2021, 9:00 AM.
For the event, Misamis University has partnered with the East Asian-Australasian Flyway Partnership Secretariat, which gave their full support in promoting the World Migratory Bird Day. MU has also partnered with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), and the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity. To ensure the smooth implementation of the projects in the community, MU collaborated with the Local Government Units (LGUs) of Oroquieta City, Tangub City, Ozamiz City, and the municipalities of Bonifacio, Clarin, Tudela, Sinacaban, Jimenez, Panaon, and Aloran.
The event will open with an online lecture and workshop with Sangguniang Kabataan from the partner LGUs and municipalities at 9:00 AM. There will also be a clean-up drive shortly after the workshop by Misamis University students, faculty, and staff along with DENR-CENRO personnel at around 3:00 PM.
To further increase awareness of the importance, value, and significance of World Migratory Birds, the SK leaders and representatives from the partner LGUs and municipalities will be given posters to use in their respective coastal barangays. Billboards have also been installed in the known wetlands around the province.
