Misamis University's College of Computer Studies Triumphs at CyberCONNECT: Capture the Flag Challenge
Misamis University proudly celebrates the success of the College of Computer Studies team, MUCT-1 (Misamis University Capture the Flag Team 1), one of our two participating teams, for winning Champion in the recently concluded CyberCONNECT: Capture the Flag (CTF) Training and Challenge, hosted virtually by the Department of Information and Communications Technology – Misamis Occidental on August 30–31, 2025.
Out of 12 teams representing 6 higher education institutions, MUCT-1 rose to the top, showcasing outstanding technical expertise, teamwork, and perseverance. The two-day event promoted cybersecurity awareness and capacity-building, equipping participants with foundational knowledge and hands-on experience through technical training sessions and a pocket CTF competition.
The champion team members are Ace Ivar Jou E. Bosmion, Joeffrey S. Dela Cruz, Jeff Hardy B. Rosal, and Wesly Y. Suezo, under the guidance of their coach, Engr. Jerry M. Lumasag.
This victory not only underscores the dedication and competence of our students but also marks a significant milestone as they prepare to represent Misamis University at the upcoming Regional Hack4Gov 2025 Competition, where they will compete with the best from Northern Mindanao and across the country.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the teams, their coach, and the College of Computer Studies for this remarkable achievement, and we wish them continued success in the competitions ahead.
