23Strengthening Partnerships for Sustainable Solutions: Misamis University’s Multi-Sector Engagements
Misamis University’s active affiliations with international organizations and its participation in both national and international forums enable the institution to stay informed about emerging issues and contribute meaningfully to addressing global and local concerns. Its membership in national bodies such as the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP), the Protected Area Management Boards (PAMB) of the Mt. Malindang Range Natural Park (MNRNP) and the Baliangao Protected Landscape and Seascape (BPLS), and the Bagumbang–Malaubang Mangrove Swamp Reserve strengthens the University’s role in identifying environmental problems through biodiversity and biophysical research, Global Information System (GIS) mapping, and in formulating policies and strategies. Furthermore, the University’s accreditation in local special bodies within Local Government Units (LGUs) empowers Misamis University to respond promptly to pressing community and sectoral needs.
