International Joint Lecture on Strategic Communication for Tourism Promotion
Misamis University, through its Linkages and Networking Office, in partnership with Universitas Persada Indonesia Yayasan Administrasi Indonesia (UPI YAI), is set to hold an International Joint Activity on Strategic Communication for Tourism Promotion on November 29, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Instructional Media Center.
Misamis University will present the lecture "Communication Strategies for Promoting Tourism in Misamis Occidental, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur Provinces, Philippines," that will be delivered by Dr. Haydee Villanueva and Ms. Hanzen Tomatao. Participants include 14 students from the Bachelor of Arts in English Language program and 83 students from the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management program.
UPI YAI will contribute to the discussion with a lecture titled “Implementing Communication Approach to Raise Awareness of Green Economy in Tourism: A Case of Wakatobi Islands, Indonesia.” This will be presented by Dr. Pir Owners, with 95 students from their Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations program taking part.
This international collaboration aims to enhance students' communication skills,
particularly in promoting local tourism assets, while fostering a sustainable tourism
industry. The activity will feature insightful lectures from representatives of both
institutions.
