Mr. Agustin T. Guido III Honored with Prestigious Global Humanitarian Nursing Leadership Award
MANILA, Philippines – Mr. Agustin T. Guido III, RN, MBA, an alumnus of Misamis University, received the Distinguished Award for Filipino-American Excellence in Global Humanitarian Nursing Leadership during the Asia's Apex Elite Achievers Awards 2024, held at The Heritage Hotel, Manila. A graduate of the Bachelor of Nursing program in 1995, Mr. Guido has consistently exemplified excellence in the nursing profession on a global scale.
Currently serving as the Director of Nursing at New Jersey Eastern Star Home and Vice President of New Jersey Association Directors of Nursing Administration. Mr. Guido boasts an impressive career spanning multiple leadership roles, including his previous positions as Staff Development Coordinator at JFK Hartwyck at Edison Estates and Director of Nursing at Hackensack Meridian Health JFK Hartwyck.
In recent years, Mr. Guido garnered numerous accolades. In 2022, he was regarded as the National Nurse Leader of the Year by the National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration in Long-Term Care (NADONA/LTC). In 2023, he was recognized as Nurse Leader of the Year by the Philippine Nurses Association of New Jersey (PNANJ).
His leadership extends beyond the workplace, as evidenced by his role as a resource speaker at a seminar on “Transformative Leadership in Nursing Through Quality Assurance and Process Improvement,” hosted by MHARS Medical Center in Ozamiz City on September 19, 2024.
Notably, under his guidance, New Jersey Eastern Star Home Residential Care achieved zero deficiency and full compliance during the 2024 annual state inspection by the Department of Health. The facility was also celebrated as "Best Nursing Home" and "Best Place to Live" for 2025 by the U.S. News and World Report.
Earlier this year, Mr. Guido was recognized as “Asia's Golden Icon 2024” for Exemplary Leadership in Hospital and Healthcare Organization during the awards ceremony on May 31, 2024. Additionally, he was honored with the Nurse Excellence Award of the Year by PNANJ on October 5, 2024, in Pines Manor, New Jersey, USA.
Mr. Guido graced the cover of the October 2024 issue of Fil-Am Magazine with a feature story titled, "Agustin Guido III: Portrait of a Nurse as a Writer", highlighting his dedication to the nursing profession. His notable works include the poems "Roots of Resilience", which explores the foundations of human strength, and "A Dog's Promise", a heartfelt ode to loyalty and companionship.
