MU Alumnus Mr. Jury Rey A. Catapang Ranks Top 1 in Regional Business Pitching, Qualifies for National Level of Young Farmers Challenge Upscale 2024

REGION X, Cagayan De Oro City — A proud graduate of Misamis University, Mr. Jury Rey A. Catapang, CPA, CC, CISA, CRISC, continues to inspire many with his achievements in the fields of accountancy, information technology, and agriculture.

Mr. Catapang earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy in 2015 from the College of Business and Management of Misamis University. Since then, he has built a professional portfolio, becoming a Certified Public Accountant, Certified in Cybersecurity, Certified Information Systems Auditor, and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control. His expertise led him to a successful career in IT auditing, where he has amassed nine years of experience, including his notable role as Technology Risk Manager at Ernst & Young Global Delivery Services (EY GDS) Philippines.

Beyond the corporate world, Mr. Catapang also serves as a part-time instructor at the Misamis University College of Business and Management, where he shares his knowledge and experiences with future business professionals.

He has been recognized multiple times for his outstanding performance. He is a two-time EY GDS Philippines Taguyod Awardee in 2022 and 2023, a prestigious recognition given to individuals who demonstrate excellence in client service and effective communication within teams and engagements. In 2024, he was also conferred the ALAB Gitling Award, where he competed with seasoned professionals from various industries and stood out for consistently delivering a distinctive client experience.

Proving his versatility, Mr. Catapang is also making a name in the agricultural sector. As the Founder and CEO of OZ Greens Vegetables Farm, he advocates for sustainable farming and agripreneurship. His efforts have been recognized nationally, earning him the title of Young Farmers Challenge Provincial Awardee in 2023 and Upscale Regional Awardee in 2024. He ranked Top 1 in the Upscale Regional Business Pitching Competition, National Qualifier for the Young Farmers Challenge Upscale 2024 given by the Department of Agriculture - Regional Field Office Region 10 held on May 30, 2025, at TIEZA Gardens of Malasag, Cugman, Cagayan de Oro City.

Representing his enterprise, OZ Greens Vegetables Farm, Mr. Catapang’s innovative pitch and sustainable farming model earned him a spot as a National Qualifier for the Young Farmers Challenge Upscale 2024 which also brings great pride to Misamis University, reinforcing the institution’s mission to deliver quality education and produce graduates who are leaders and changemakers in diverse sectors.
