MU Alumna Genimfa Lancero Achieves Impressive Milestone in the Nursing Profession

Genimfa Lancero was honored with prestigious awards for her exceptional performance in the field of nursing. On May 5, 2023, she was bestowed with the Excellence in Nursing Education Award by the Office of the Mayor, Town of Hempstead, in recognition of her outstanding service benefiting the entire local community. She also received a Certificate of Excellence on the same day, acknowledging her dedication and excellence in providing service to both patients and their families, as well as her colleagues at Mount Sinai South Nassau.

The U.S. House of Representatives, represented by Congressman Anthony P. D'Esposito on behalf of the Fourth Congressional District, proudly joined Mount Sinai South Nassau in recognizing Genimfa’s endeavors. She was presented with a citation which emphasized her exemplary commitment and contributions to nursing education that are worthy of great respect and admiration from the entire country.

Recently, Genimfa accomplished a remarkable feat by being named the "2024 Employee of the 1st Quarter" at Mount Sinai South Nassau as she exemplified their STAAR and MAGNET standards and demonstrated her ongoing commitment. She was recognized for her profound nursing knowledge, positioning her as a valuable asset for nursing staff across various practice settings. Additionally, she was praised for her professionalism, approachability, and supportiveness towards all staff, particularly new graduate nurses. This underscores her immense value in the workplace, not only for her phenomenal healthcare services but also for her ability to impart knowledge and foster growth among her colleagues.

Genimfa's achievements stand as undeniable proof of her unwavering dedication and commitment, acknowledged and witnessed by all within her community. Her success serves as a beacon of inspiration, encouraging each of us to strive for excellence to positively impact our communities in ways that leave a lasting and meaningful impact.

In 1990, Genimfa earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Misamis University. Subsequently, she continued her academic journey at the same university, completing her graduate studies. In 1997, she achieved a Master in Nursing, followed by obtaining a Master of Arts in Nursing Major in Maternal and Child Nursing in 1998.
