#WalangPasok on August 23 and 26, 2024, in observance of holidays
In accordance with Proclamation No. 665, August 23, 2024 (Friday) has been declared a special non-working day throughout the country to observe Ninoy Aquino Day, which has been moved from its original date of August 21, 2024 (Wednesday) as part of the government's efforts to promote domestic tourism. Ninoy Aquino Day is a significant occasion in the nation's history, honoring Aquino's crucial contributions to the struggle for democracy and his belief that the Filipino people are worth dying for.
In addition, August 26, 2024, is a regular holiday in observance of National Heroes Day, pursuant to Proclamation No. 368. Known locally as 'Araw ng mga Bayani,' National Heroes Day is one of the Philippines' oldest public holidays, celebrated on the last Monday of August. This day is a meaningful tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of all Filipino heroes who fought for the nation’s freedom, with their legacy forever ingrained in the heart of our history and shared memory.
