#EstudyanTIPS: Online Class Etiquette

Proper etiquette is a must in almost all situations, even online classes. It makes for a great first impression and may give you a slight advantage over others without etiquette. To start, here are 5 tips to remember when interacting in your online classes.

Mind your Grammar, Spelling and Punctuation

Communicating online with good writing skills certainly gives a good impression. It also lets your audience know that you put some thought and effort before you hit post.

Be Polite

Always "speak" online as you would in person. Being polite will go a long way, so remember to start your emails or messages with a greeting and use kind words. Also, don’t forget to use titles like calling your teachers "Maam," "Miss," or "Sir," and saying "please" and "thank you."

Don’t Spread Fake News

Double-check the facts before posting or sharing something. It’s always a good idea to get your information from more than one source.

Keep Data Privacy in Mind

Don't share your personal information like your birthday or student ID number with other people. Some of these can be used to log in to your accounts.

Be Punctual

Being punctual shows that you respect others’ time and schedule, and most of the time saves you from a lot of trouble. Remember to log in to your device a few minutes before your class starts, and remember. If you have quizzes, try to submit a few minutes before the deadline to avoid getting locked out.
