The College of Arts and Sciences aims to be among the leading schools of arts and sciences in the country.
Mission:
The Arts and Sciences program shall aim to produce graduates from the College of Arts and Sciences whose knowledge, skills and attitudes are sufficient to comply with the requirements of STCW '78 as amended in 1995 and such other international laws and conventions.
The General Education program shall aim to equip the students with the knowledge of the trade, ethics and discipline necessary to the particular values and national identity in general.

The Arts & Sciences program aims to:
Provide fields of study which deal with man, his nature and dignity, his ideals and values, his experiences and environment, the problems and the challenges in life. Develop the individual as a person-rational being with a better understanding of the society in which he lives and the will to contribute to its welfare.
Prepare individuals for positions of leadership in various walks of life, individuals who have wide range of interests and who can use their minds effectively and be ready for global competitiveness. Train the individuals in the skills of communication and develop in them critical, aesthetic appreciation of the world and concern for ecological balance.
Equip the individuals with a broad range of information and develop in them keen senses of observation and understanding of people and events.
