Capacity-Building Seminar on Internationalization

In line with its commitment to academic excellence and its vision to be a globally-recognized institution of learning, Misamis University recently conducted a seminar entitled "Capacity- Building Seminar on Internationalization." This seminar aimed to equip the deans and department heads with the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve global competitiveness by enhancing their understanding of internationalization.

The seminar, held at the MU Function Hall on June 5, 2024, featured esteemed speakers who shared their valuable insights and experiences in the field of internationalization. Dr. Arlita Amapola B. Minguez, the Internationalization Focal Person of the Commission on Higher Education-Region 10, imparted her knowledge on concepts, legal bases, and university pathways crucial for facilitating internationalization within higher education institutions. Following her presentation, Dr. Shiella C. Balbutin, the Director of the Office of Internationalization and Networking at Xavier University in Cagayan De Oro City, shared her rich experiences in managing international engagements. She highlighted the significance of student mobility programs, international projects, and Erasmus Mundus scholarships in broadening academic and cultural horizons. The insights and strategies discussed during the seminar are set to significantly enhance Misamis University's global competencies and foster international collaboration.
